WHY DO WE NEED SO MANY NEW PHARMACIES?

As I was driving from my house from Danbury towards Laconia, I noticed a new pharmacy going up in Franklin, and a new pharmacy going up in Tilton, and I passed a total of five pre-existing ones before I made it back home to Danbury.  The entire route was 58 miles, which means there are going to be seven pharmacies from my home to Laconia and that does not include the pharmacies in the grocery stores, or chain retail stores, with those included it means that there is a pharmacy every 4.5 miles or so.  I am all for being able to buy my shampoo, deodorant or holiday cards at a discount or get my film developed in one hour, but those are not the things which make these pharmacies so successful, it is the medications that they sell.

Often people tell me that they do not take a multivitamin because it is really only expensive urine.  A good multivitamin is your cheapest health insurance plan, against having to spend money on the more expensive medications at all of these neighboring pharmacies.  It can be overwhelming to decide what a good multivitamin is.  There are three criteria that I look for and ask:  First, Is it made from whole foods or chemicals?  Secondly, was it manufactured using high temperatures and lastly, was it manufactured using high pressure?

Your multivitamin should be made from whole foods.  Your body recognizes food and is able to assimilate and use the vitamins, minerals and enzymes from the food with a greater efficiency than vitamin tablets made from unrecognizable chemical compounds.

If your multivitamin is made using high temperature, than the enzymes and nutrients are altered or destroyed and you will not be getting what you want or need.  If your multivitamin is made using high temperature your body will have to work to break it down and then you will be using crucial nutrients just to break the multivitamin down into a usable form.

I think it would be wonderful if the pharmaceutical companies actually had less medication to manufacture and people were able to use the money they spent on medications on vacations instead!
